FIRST PAINTING in 6 months - wow...

...well, here we have it - my first painting after 6 months - wow did I go crazy on the jewellery or what LOL - I took my art to my jewellery first, now I am binging my jewellery into my art - notice all those lovely puffed flowers on my painting...you may have seen them on some of my lockets :D

For the last three and a half weeks, I have been on my strict diet - low carbs high protein - and so far I have lost 5kg, two more weeks to go and I am done - I am able to fit into all my size 10 - 12 clothes once again and I am over the moon. But with this diet, no fun stuff anymore like alcohol or coffee and God forbid, no chocolate~!!!! That was the theme of my painting, as you can see from all those words - if I can't eat chocolate, well then, I will paint it :D

So, what do you think of my return to art? This one is so choker-full of texture and it will have lashings of varnish on it, but that will take place over the next few days.

Anyway, cheers to you all, hope you are all having a great week - hugz Val xoxo

  2. Hey Val....this is fantastic!!! Love the texture you have created...I looks as if I can nearly feel it from here! Love the mixed media....and congrats on losing 5 kgs....I know how hard that can be...I've got to lose that much as well, but am refusing to part with my glass of white wine as yet!

  3. LOL Sissy Sparrows - I know how you feel about not wanting to part with your wine - I am like that with my coffee - massive withdrawals here but I am more than half way through so am pretty proud of myself. Thanks for your lovely comments on my painting - I am texture mad, all my paintings have to have 'touchable' texture :D

  7. Wow this is GORGEOUS Val, I don't think I've seen you painting since I started following so this was a nice surprise today!!! I hear you about the no chocolate thing, well I mean, I should be doing what you're doing!! I run about 3-5 times a week depending on how busy I get, but I really should go on a bit of a detox, no so much the alcohol but coffee, tea and most definitly chocolate, I think about detoxing all the time but I can't bring myself to do it hehehe chocolate especially is my most favourite indulgence, perhaps I should just give it a go? hmmmmmmm

  8. Hi Nicola, thanks buddy :D

Missing chocolate and coffee the most - but two more weeks and I will be able to have them, but in very small doses LOL as I don't want to ruin any of the good work I have done.

Yes, lets all detox, good for the mind, good for the body - let me know if you decide to do it :)

You should call it, The mind of a Dieter LOL that is my mind all the time! haha I haven't eaten any wheat for over two weeks ( I even avoided your mums glorious lasagne) and now am finally working out which foods I am allergic to by slowly introducing them again - argh to sometimes catastrophic consequences LOL

  17. Hey Dragonfly, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind - I have missed having my chips and chocolate but then, those are the very things that have made me move up a dress size LOL and that is not good - so I have to persevere for another 10 days, then my diet is officially over, then I will have my goodies, BUT in moderation :D

  18. Hi Val,
    Wow, I'm impressed.
That painting is fantastic with the multi media added.
Yeah, Low Carb diets are the easiest and only way to loose weight in my book.
Two years ago, I went on a low carb diet, lost 18 kilo's and pretty much stick to the low carbs and I've kept it off.
    Keep up the good work.
    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs,
    Anna

  20. I am so pleased to meet you, VAl! Your painting is wonderful...I LOVE the textures as well as the significance. But I am sad to have missed your giveaway. Your jewelry is incredible! I hope all is well after your rainstorm and your diet...as with most things, moderation (chocolates AND rainfall) is best! love, Rose

  21. gorgeous painting ... wonderful after 6 months I took 20yrs!! I understand with the dieting I was huge when I was a teenager going on so many diets until I found a low fat diet & I've been slim every since. Though chocolate I have to have in moderation now I used eat chocolate every day :)
