Some new bookmarks - love these :D

An end of another week, time flies here...

...its nearly December and my mind boggles - I can't believe a whole year has flown past.

I wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my buddies that celebrate this holiday - something us Aussies do not follow or do :( - but we can still eat turkey if we want to LOL but without the festivities!

Some of my wire arrived in the mail yesterday and I have happily been making a few new pendants, - also, I am starting to love working with copper and the look of these pendants.

Once again, I have no artwork to post here - I can't believe it has been 3 months now that I haven't painted but the moment I get back to my artwork I should be fresh and full of new ides - would be interesting to see my first painting back!

Cheers all and have a great weekend, Val xo

Sterling Silver & Copper tree of life...

I sold a similar tree of life pendant to this one two days ago (2 hours after I listed it WOOT WOOT) so I have made a similar one - I must say that the copper tinged rondelles look great on a copper tree of life - sterling silver is on the outside. Hope you like it...

Pastel Rondelles and French Rose...

some of my new supplies arrived today - just had to make these two pendants in these lovely colours - SWEET!

New Pendant and New Pthots... new pendant with white/pink glass chip beads is the first photo - I have redone most of the photos for my Etsy shop and uploaded them this morning - it was a pain redoing them all (as I have a million other things to do) but I hope it will be worth the effort.

Fingers crossed for more gem and wire supplies to arrive TODAY! :D

New MACRO pics of pendnats...

... I was chatting away on Twitter a few hours ago and a few very helpful ladies suggested I use 'macro' setting on my camera for taking photos for my etsy store - feedback is always great so I went and took out my instruction booklet for my trusty Sony Cyber-shot and... low and behold, I had a Macro setting on there - I have taken a few photos under lights (which is always hard) and plan to redo them tomorrow morning in natural sunlight...but even these pictures taken a few moments ago are MAGIC - all the detail is there and everything is so sharp - only now, after comparing my old photos and these macro shots can I see the vast difference between the two - I am very happy about this outcome - I suppose I just took it for granted that my artwork will sell itself...but great photos are so important when trying to advertise/sell you creations :D

A Pendant a Day...

Hi Bloggers...well after the 5 sales in 5 days on Etsy (three alone yesterday) most of my Tree of Life pendants are sold and gone to their new owners, so I have decided to make a Tree of Life pendant every day if possible, while my silver wire supplies last - usually when the kiddies are in bed and hubby and I are sitting in the evenings relaxing and watching TV I bring out my little boxes of beads and my little tools . This one I made while watching that crazy show Ladette to Lady last night (all you Aussies will know the show I am talking about) LOL - this one is made out of European silver plated wire, aluminium wire and 6mm Fire Agate Smooth Polished Beads - I love the extra touch with the little charm/dangle on this one :D

My art studio is still stacked up with boxes (as I have given the space to a close friend who is moving home) so I am unable to pick up the paint brushes for at least another 2 weeks - the moment I get my studio back I plan to paint :D

Hope everyone is happy and well - chat soon buddies, Val xoxo

"In Full Bloom" Tree of Life pendant... newest pendant - I have been selling these pendants really well, and I am constantly making new ones, different, more intricate ones to replace the ones that have found new homes :D

This one is made out of European Silver plated wire (which is a great alternative to sterling silver but without the high price tag) - the branch wire is very thin aluminum wire - I have added some gems to the actual necklace which looks lovely I think.

This little pendant will be listed on etsy shortly - there are 55 real Peridot, Amethyst, Citrine and Topaz Gems on the tree - it is very sparkly and bright.

Cheers Val xo

A few new batches of soap :D

...last night I made two more batches of soap - the green one is Fruity scent and the pink one is Rose - the purple/white ones at the back are from my first batch and they are lavender. The scent coming off this rack (which is currently in my bathroom) is lovely, all the scents mixed together.

I am tempted to keep making more, but the truth is I need to wait a few weeks and use these soaps and make sure they are soaping up good before I keep going with this recipe :D - no worries, I will just have to return to my jewellery making for the time being.

I sold a Tree of Life pendant yesterday to a lady that lives 50km away from me (small world) - she is hoping it will arrive in the post by tomorrow as she wants her for her sister's b-day party on the weekend - always makes me smile when one of my creations is bought.

Will post soon - until then, cheers and all the best, Val

(ps I have enclosed a few links to soap making sites on my previous soap post, in the comments section, if anyone is interested in making soaps at home - ENJOY!)

My Very Very First Home Made Soap :D

...ta-daaaa - I am so stoked right now - just had to cut this log (3 hours too early) but the kids wanted to see the soap and it had set perfectly... it is not the prettiest of soaps (LOL) but it smells divinely (lavender scent) and the bars are cut very chunky (that's my hubby's suggestion) ... now I will take them to my art studio and find a quiet dry corner for them to sit in for the next 4 weeks :D before we can actually enjoy these bars in the shower.

OK, I have a few plans for a few more batches with different scents which I will make over the next week and that should set us up for the next year LOL (no more buying soap from the supermarket for me) - the honest truth about these home made cold pressed soaps is that they are so moisturising and gentle on the skin and I am glad this 'soap making' bug has bit - such a useful thing to make.

Chat soon Blogger buddies, all the best until my next post - cheers and hugz Val xoxo

Jumping into a new and exciting project...

hello Bloggers - well, you are not going to believe my next creative move - you may actually start to wonder and think that I may be slightly deranged LOL - the truth is my silver supplies have still not arrived and my art studio is currently a storage space for a friend that is moving homes and painting is not an option - so as you can see I am all out of "artsy" things to do - soooooo.............. I made my first batch of home made (cold pressed) soap yesterday and another two batches this morning :D!!! YAY for me!

Ever since I joined Blogger in April of this year, I have come across so many different artists with heaps of creativity and passion for their artwork - hence my expansion/experimenting into jewellery making and now soap making - I have been purchasing home made soap over Etsy for a while now and curiosity got the better of me a few days ago - I found some great websites with simple recipies for cold pressed soap, went to my local supermarket yesterday and purchased all the ingredients. Then hubby and I, after the kids went to bed, made soap - we had a blast as we were both acting like we knew what we were doing, reading recipes, measuring ingredients, heating oils on the stove etc etc etc - 30 minutes later VOILA I had my first batch of soap - it is curing at the moment and I won't be able to see what it looks like until tonight when I can cut it into bars of soap - I will post some pics tomorrow (I am not expecting lovely colourful beautiful bars from these first few batches - it is all about learning at the moment and about functionality as I absolutely adore home made soap).

OK that's it for me for today - just thought to share this 'mental' attack of mine :D

Cheers and hugz, Val xoxo
