(don't know why these two links aren't working, but perhaps if you copy and paste into your browser window, it will work)

PAINTING AGAIN...but on jewellery :D

Painting again LOL - I pulled out all my lovely bottles of Folk Art acrylic paints last night and hand painted these gorgeous lockets which require baking and the use of polymer clay and loads of layers of RESIN to seal them all in - LOVING this new process. So yes, I am finally paintings again...but not on canvases :D - I am cheeky!

I also have a couple of earrings (filigree brass) currently curing after I hand painted them this morning - I have to wait til tomorrow before I can add my favourite beads: Czech fire polished faceted rondelles - they too look lovely so far :D - will post pics. when they are ready :D

Hope all you lovely ladies have had a great Christmas with your loved ones and now I wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

"Teal & Smoke" Earrings...

... I found some great jewellery components and some great wrapping wire in a shop this weekend and the name of this particular colour is called "Boho Gold" but in actual fact, it looks exactly like antique brass.... so naturally I had to buy some straight away and the first thing I made are these cute earrings...hubby likes them heaps, in fact he suggested I keep them and wear them myself but I am not a jewellery wearing person at all, especially not earrings LOL... so these are listed in my Etsy shop! Drats... I should start getting myself used to heaps of jewellery, considering I have so many pieces made...

Ah well... that is life... :(

Did I do the right thing? Maybe I should have thought about it longer...

I had a lady from Maine (US) message me over Etsy asking if I could do 50 of these bookmarks for them as each year they send little original keepsakes to their top clients - they would have had to be completed by early February 2010.

So I thought about it...worked out my costs...and decided not to do it! Am I whacked in the head???

I have no problems doing commissions (in fact I just completed 6 tree of life pendants for a lady in Australia) - but 50 bookmarks is a bit too many for my liking as it would have felt like a process line - also, I so have my bookmarks under-priced as is and she wanted a wholesale price, which would have totally brought down the price even more, and my images are diamond glazed into the art trays and its not just a simple things as adding beads, lots of time to do the art trays!- so it would not have been a fun simple thing to do - it would have taken me days and days - something I don't have right now especially since school holidays start in a week in Australia, with Christmas and New Years around the corner etc...

Ah well...that's life...

Thank you so much Anna and Sue for thinking of me for this award - you will find Anna's beautiful creations here :D and Sue's amazing craftiness here - please visit these two lovely blogs for inspiration and eye-candy!

I am supposed to pass this blog award onto 10 other great blogs as well as writing down 10 things about myself - so here goes!

1. I love my kids - they are my everything.
2. My hubby is right up there with my kids :D
3. I have an obsessive personality at times, as you can very well see with my jewellery madness - but I am so loving making jewellery now :D
4. My favourite colours: brown, black and blue.
5. My favourite take-away : Chinese!
6. I love shopping for clothes and fun things.
7. My biggest hate: grocery shopping :(
8. Love going on holidays with my family - two holidays a year a MUST!
9. I am a massive bookworm - love a good book whether it be an autobiography, thriller or romance.
10. Love Blogging and Twittering - not too crash hot on FaceBook tho!

OK, these 10 things were straight off the top of my head, no thinking about it, just typing.

Now for 10 other blogs I would like to post this award to - well...I would like ALL my bloggers to take this "Hones Scrap" award - if I follow you that means I love your work - please come along and help yourself to this blog award, you deserve it! I must say I don't like choosing only a small number of blogs to give awards to - I am changing the rules here (sorry, executive decision on its way) - ALL MY FOLLOWERS deserve this award.

ENJOY lovely ladies :D

And one more..."Brown Sugar"....

...LOL...who was I kidding when I said I will take a break from making jewellery - no need to mention that all my pliers and boxes of beads are back out, spread out all over my dining table...

Freehand cutie...

silver and copper with a few Czech fire polished beads and one Chalcedony Teardrop Briolette :D

My two really good friends...

...OK ladies, I wanted to give you guys a break from all my jewellery so I thought I would post a pic of my two very good close friends - Mr Luther is our English Mastiff (who comes in at a measly 105kg) and Miss Pepper is my lovely tabby! She spends the days inside the house sleeping and then the tag team changes, come nightfall, and Pepper is out and about and Luther is snoring while my family and I watch TV.

Next installment... I will try and find a photo of my daughter's might steed (our tiny little Shetland Pony)... till then, ciao :D

Can't help myself :D

...just playing around with antique brass - love the colour of this wire, like warm honey :D

This one has two different types of beads around the cabochon - PINK Czech Fire Polished Rondelle beads and RED Garnet gems - cheers ladies, hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :D

Always on the go...

...well, I think I am done here :D - I have had a number of pendants on the go, half finished most of them, just waiting on certain beads to arrive... which finally did today - I have been wrapping the beads into the pendants all afternoon and I am happy with the results - the first one is Sterling Silver for those that must have Sterling...
